RIB Unlimited is all about energy-efficient high-speed rigid inflatable boats—or, as we call them, RIBs. DRIVETRAIN CONFIGURATION

RIB Unlimited is all about energy-efficient high-speed rigid inflatable boats (RIBs). We design and build all our models to be compatible with either electric or conventional drivetrains and let you, our customers, decide which configuration that best suit your needs.

We specialize in the design and production of a range of hull sizes, each tailored to accommodate various drivetrain configurations. Our expertise lies in developing diverse hull dimensions that seamlessly integrate with a variety of drivetrain options, ensuring optimal performance across our product lineup.

  • RIB Unlimited 6S is a revolutionary RIB with unprecedented energy efficiency and handling in the 6m RIB segment approved for up to 80hp.

  • RIB Unlimited 6SX is a revolutionary electric RIB with unprecedented energy efficiency and handling in the 6m RIB segment. The Coach Edition is particularly developed for sailing clubs, harbour operators and other professional users but works well for leisure users too. The electric drivetrain consists of a 50 hp outboard and 25.9 kWh lithium battery from Stream Propulsion which is easily charged from a normal 1-phase 220v power outlet (up to 16A).

SUSTAINABLE SPEEDBOATING

The speedboat industry as a whole faces large challenges in terms of sustainability, mainly due to the emissions generated by operating the boats. By pioneering and driving the development of energy-efficient RIBs that more than halve fuel consumption and truly enable electrification, we aim to make sustainable speed-boating a reality now rather than in the future and encourage other manufacturers to follow in our footsteps.

BEHIND THE BRAND

RIB Unlimited is run by two front persons with highly complementing skills who are supported by a team of leading specialists in naval architechture, hydrodynamics, lamination/construction techniques and optimized engine/propeller set up’s. Many of the specialists have an academic research background in their specialist field of competence and several also possess vast interational boat racing experience.

  • Martin Philip is the CEO of RIB Unlimited and has widespread international experience from the financial industry in areas such as sustainable and impact investing. He has had a passion for energy efficient speedboats all his life and been in the surroundings of RIB Unlimited since the early 2000’s. Holds a MSc in Business Administration and Economic from Stockholm University and is CEFA qualified from Stockholm School of Economics. Lives in Saltsjöbaden outside Stockholm, Sweden.

  • Olle is a highly recognized RIB expert, naval architect and pioneering hydrodynamic designer with a true passion for energy efficiency. He has been involved with the development of RIB Unlimited since the very early days. In parallel over the last 30 years, Olle has also built up one of Sweden’s leading and most sustainable screen print facilities, Eklanda Screen AB. Lives in Billdal outside Gothenburg, Sweden.
